Ex-NJ governor's wife denies claims of threesomes

by GayWired

Dina Matos McGreevey is vehemently denying claims she participated in sexual three-way trysts with her estranged husband, ex-NJ Governor Jim McGreevey, and his former driver, Ted Pedersen. Pedersen came out publicly this weekend with accusations the couple had engaged in multiple threesomes with him before McGreevey was elected governor.

Jim McGreevey resigned as governor of New Jersey in 2004 after revealing he had engaging in an extramarital affair with a man. In a now infamous speech, McGreevey announced to the world that he was a "gay American," while his wife Dina stood silently by his side. His wife claims she had no idea her husband was gay before the affair came to light.

Pedersen, one of ex-Governor's former drivers, released a statement over the weekend claiming he had sex on multiple occasions Dina Matos McGreevey while her husband watched. Pederson told the Newark Star-Ledger that the McGreeveys frequently hooked up with him to have threesomes, often after dinner at a local T.G.I. Friday's restaurant.

"We called it the Friday Night Special," Pedersen said, according to the Star-Ledger. After a couple of drinks at T.G.I. Friday's, the three would retire to McGreeveys' condo for a "hard-core consensual sex orgy," Pedersen continued. The threesomes supposedly happened before and after the McGreeveys were married and stopped shortly before Jim McGreevey was elected as the governor of New Jersey in 2001.

Pedersen also claims Dina Matos McGreevey knew her husband was gay when the couple married. The former limo driver says he came out publicly with his story because of Dina Matos McGreevey's recent commentary about the prostitution-fueled downfall of New York Governor Eliot Spitzer. Pedersen also says felt justified in coming forward because Dina Matos McGreevey subpoenaed him to testify in the couple's divorce proceedings.

"I would have kept my mouth shut about this forever, but she supoenaed me," he told the New York Post, "now it's all going to come out at trial."

"It's frustrating to hear her call Gov. Spitzer a hypocrite while she's out there being as dishonest as anyone could be about her own life," Pedersen said, according to the Post. "She's framed herself as a victim—yet she was a willing participant... It's disgusting to watch her play the victim card."

Dina Matos McGreevey told ABCNews.com that Pedersen's accusations are "completely false and were prompted by Jim McGreevey." She claims Pedersen's allegations are an attack orchestrated by her estranged husband to discredit her in the media. "He cannot stand it when I am receiving attention in the media rather than him," she said.

Representatives for Jim McGreevey have refused to comment on the story.
