An officer with the Greenwich Police Department was recently disciplined after he was found to have insulted a Greenwich Avenue man with an anti-gay slur. Officer Daniel Dendrie received counseling about the incident and will have to go through retraining with the town affirmative action consultant. News of the disciplined officer came out after the "Greenwich Times" received papers under the Freedom of Information Act. Forty-six-year-old Barclay Fryery filed the complaint after being arrested on July 15th from an incident involving his dog being tied to a parking meter.
