SLDN: "This is the Keystone Kops approach to leadership..."
"Our men and women in uniform deserve better."

(Washington, DC - June 30, PageOneQ) Earlier today, during the daily White House press briefing, administration spokesman Tony Snow addressed the military's Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy, the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network has reported in a press released obtained by PageOneQ.
In what what activist termed a 'shift the blame' strategy, Snow explained that the administration's position on the policy is "well-established." As part of his response, the first comments from the Administration since taking office in 2001, Snow told reporters he would, "defer all questions about military personnel policies to the Department of Defense," SLDN reported.
In the past, The Department of Defense has deferred to Congress on the policy, saying that Congress would need to change the law. Some in Congress have asked the Pentagon to urge lawmakers to make the change. A bill introduced by Rep. Marty Meehan (D-NY) would reverse the policy, enacted in 1996 and signed into law by President Bill Clinton.
SLDN Executive Director, C. Dixon Osborne characterized the government's shifting of blame as characters from a 100-year old comedic movie series,
"This is the Keystone Kops approach to leadership," he stated.
